Bradley Young: Response

"I am completely and utterly in disgust over the allegations made earlier stating that I cheat and take steroids. I am here to clear the air and set the record straight: I have done nothing wrong.

As a true sportsman, I love sport and I have always been an advocate of truth to the game. To insinuate that I, in any way, shape or form have taken away from sport is appalling. To suggest that I would cheat is disgusting and truly an attack at my character.

Instead, it seems that this alleged report is a personal attack towards me. It is saddening to think that someone would would publish such slander and expect to be believed. Those who are involved know the type of person I am and know that such allegations are fabricated and outrageous.

I will go through the publication and point out misrepresentations: "Many have cried and voted against allowing Mr. Young from participating and possibly winning both challenges, citing favoritism, cheating, and the fact that Mr Young is on the board RUNNING the Young Family Challenge."
-- No such comments were made. The only comments made were claiming that "He sucks" and "Brad should not be eligible to win two bracket challenges in a row" There is no mention of cheating, favoritism nor my position as the creator of the Bracket Challenge. Instead this is just a made-up accusation.

"Some have disclosed the possible use of substances for "bulking up" via steroids." -- This was an allegation made only by the writer, as I have confirmation that he did not speak with any other members of this challenge in regards to my victory in the USA Baseball challenge.

"Sadly, when calling for a statement, the Brad Young camp could not be reached." -- Also untrue, the phone call made to my cell phone by the writer was at 1:14 PM, the article proclaiming Brad's victory in his work pool was written at 1:39 PM. Therefore the call was completely and totally unrelated to this news.

Also, as questioned to coincide with the drug-use allegations are my calves. I apologize for my beastly, amazing and ridiculously large calves and their affect on people. However, if for one second you would like to bring my calves into question to tie them in with possible steroids talk, I implore you to take 4 years of marching band -- one of which was spent as drum major where you were marching backwards on your tip-toes -- and then see how ridiculous your calves get.

Again, I find this disgusting and discerning and I call for an apology and retraction from the writer."

Until then, precautions must be made towards this obviously false allegation and the board of the Young Family NCAA Bracket Challenge 2009 will evaluate the situation and will then pass judgment that is not limited to suspension, disqualification, or a beat down on the writer claiming Brad Young is a cheat.

  1. All I have to say about your "beastly" calves is -- " You SMF! If you got, flaunt it baby!"

As I posted in an earlier thread today, I still contend that steroids are not a "banned substance" it this challenge, therefore Bradley has done nothing wrong.

But one must question...who did write those rules anyway? Who is this "board" made up of? Is there equal representation of the family governing this event, or is Bradley a lone dictator? I implore someone to answer me these simple questions!

  2. I do believe Bradley is the lone dictator of this bracket, somehow this gets fishier and firshier every second.

  3. Heather - what kind of rebuttal uses the word "fishier" twice in the same sentence anyway? Oh wait; you spelled it differently the second time to avoid such confusion, so it is all good! xoxoxxoxoxoxoxoxo

  4. Well... there really aren't any rules... and I believe I'm really the only member of the board.... perhaps next year we have a rule book created...

  7. I lost a bit of sleep last night...tossing & turning & wondering if Bradley really could be cheating & if he should be DQ'd. Not to mention the "beastly calves" that were chasing me. Anyway, what I want to know is why is Scattegories banned for the Young family? I wasn't around when I heard about it so I need a reminder. This also may decide who will be on the board next year & who may be asked to step down.....

  8. This saddens me... that my own flesh and blood has to wonder whether or not I cheat. Just because my calves are monstrous and amazing doesn't mean I do drugs... Besides, if we were to take the newly mandated 2010 drug test, I would pass. I have never done drugs -- other than Alka Seltzer Cold Plus and Sudafed PM -- Extreme Cold.

Scattergories -- umm, well... there is a lot of fighting when we play Scattergories. I mean, it's not really banned -- I've played it with family since the "ban", but rules have to be expressed fully beforehand! Haha!

Well, Teresa, I believe you're going to be on the board next year... so in the off season, you're going to have take care of all of this. Hmmmm...

  11. Yes, but Sudafed and Alka Seltzer are not banned substances or something we screen for. And I haven't done starbucks, Mt. Dew or milk since the bracketing began.........

  12. Yes Bradley, you have figured out waht SMF stands for. Surely you have heard the Prince cut "Sexy M.F. form back in 1992, right?

Here is a link to the video from the classic, funky tune from the early 90's:
